Chicken Portraits

We have many Isbar / Silverudd chickens. I never know exactly how many we have, as I lose count or forget. Then sometimes a new one is added or one is lost. Roughly though, there are close to 2 dozen chickens on the farm. They lay beautiful, green eggs, and sometimes we get a brown one too!

Here is Bjorn. He's our majestic, black rooster. For a rooster, he's very friendly and relaxed. He crows periodically through the day, if no other reason than to make his presence known! He follows me around the chicken yard, never more than a few feet away. He's never attacked me though, and quickly hops out of the way if my course veers into his. Overall, Bjorn is great!

Next, we have Morgana. She's a beautiful blue hen. I hatched her in 2020. She has deep, black eyes and steely blue legs. She's definitely not the most outgoing of the bunch. I would describe her as cautious, but definitely not skittish or flighty. You just have to maintain your distance, and all will be fine!
